The BMW Motorrad S1000RR is a sport bike that released in 2009. One should call it a superbike, in fact, as it's designed for racing.
The first generation ran until 2011, driven by 193-horsepower, four-cylinder engine capable of putting out 82.6 pound-feet of torque. Features that generation ranged from a quick shifter for clutch-less gear changes to ABS and dynamic traction controls and a four-mode riding system.
The second generation was available until 2014. It sported an upgraded design with a slightly lifted front suspension, a shorter wheelbase, and better performance and handling overall. The third generation was offered until 2016; an HP4 variant was available for track applications, and features included dynamic damping control, Brembo brake calipers, and an optional race kit package, which boosted horsepower to 212.
The fourth generation was made lighter-weight and incorporated a series of upgrades that brought engine output to 198 horsepower. It culminated in 2018, when the fifth generation released with noteworthy modifications. Among them was a water/oil-cooled in-line four-cylinder, four-stroke engine with titanium valves, which shelled out 204 horsepower and 83 pound-feet of torque. It had BMW ShiftCam technology for precision intake valve timing and lift control, plus a six-speed transmission, four electronic riding modes, and three Pro modes. That wasn't to mention features such as Hill Start Control (HSC) and Launch Control, among others.
