A sporty variant, the BMW K100RS, had several noteworthy features, among them, aerodynamic fairing, low handlebars, wind deflectors, and anti-lock brakes. The BMW K100RT, however, ran from 1984 to 1989; it was a touring bike, designed for travel. A third variant and another motorbike for touring, the BMW K100LT, was offered between 1986 and 1991.
