BMW R1100S Parts and Accessories

BMW Motorrad R1100S was a touring motorcycle with sports bike aspirations, one that debuted in 1998 and ran until 2005. It had an air- and oil-cooled, four-valve, flat-twin engine, an "oilhead" Boxer capable of 1,085 cc displacement and which incorporated chain-driven camshafts mounted in its cylinder heads. 2003-and-later engines even had dual ignition -- namely, two spark plugs per cylinder. Mated to a six-speed transmission, the motor put out 98 horsepower driven by 72 pound-feet of torque.

Features included front Telelever and rear Paralever suspensions, front and rear disc brakes, a 4.8-gallon fuel tank, and an ABS that was, like the electrically-heated grips, optional. Distinctive features, however, included handlebars that clipped on, rearset footrests, and a removable cowl that covered the pillion seat.
