The BMW Motorrad K100LT motorcycle was first offered as a 1987 model, and sold through the 1992 model year. A variant of the BMW Motorrad K100, it featured the iconic inline-four engine that earned the family the "Flying Brick" nickname.

In addition to the standard stainless-steel exhaust, adjustable headlights, alloy wheels, and self-cancelling signal lights, the NMW Motorrad K100LT also featured a top case, 18-inch rear wheels in lieu of the standard 17-inch rear wheels, radio prep, and a more comfortable seat. As befits the Luxury Touring" designation, the motorcycle also boasted a fairing with a higher screen to better block wind at high speeds.
