BMW Motorrad R1100RT was a touring motorcycle whose 1994 debut meant the replacement of the BMW Motorrad R100RT. The model incorporated a four-stroke, two-cylinder engine, a Boxer type capable of 1085 cc displacement and paired with a five-speed manual transmission. It produced 90 horsepower backed by 70 pound-feet of torque.

Features included a 6.6-gallon fuel tank, with 1.5 gallons in reserve, plus a regulated three-way catalytic converter. The bike also had front Telelever and rear Paralever suspensions, plus front and rear disc brakes, and ABS came standard. It was succeeded by the BMW Motorrad R1150RT in 2001.
